One thing is for sure, bags are heading towards texture. I love some of the techniques being applied to bag exteriors lately and the ruched leather effect as seen on the Fall ’10 bags at Burberry is one of my favorite trends.
I think there’s something sensuous and lush about their new bags that look as if they were somehow organically pleated. It’s also nice that the shapes aren’t too fussy–Burberry sticks with a simple half moon hobo and tote with muted bright colors and lets the fabrication do most of the talking.
