Jean Paul Gaultier is reportedly leaving the high-end House of Hermes to concentrate on his own label and Lacoste designer, Christophe Lemaire is taking over.
Jean Paul Gaultier has been with Hermes for seven years, and the upcoming Spring/Summer 2011 Hermes collection will be Gaultier’s last.

I remember back when Jean Paul Gaultier was picked for the gig. I remember thinking how odd, because he’s such an avant garde designer, and Hermes is so opposite, more toned down if you will. Well he did an amazing job and I wish him the best of luck focusing on his line.

I’ve never heard of this other designer. I hope he can continue in the same direction that the company visions.

I’m a huge fan of JPG’s name line, so I’m happy with the news that he’s leaving to focus on it.
